  1. 14.11.2023 | On 10 November 2023, the Government submitted a follow-up Union communication to Parliament on the European Commission’s proposal for a TEN-T Regulation. The changes in the security environment after spring 2022 have given rise to a need to review positions on military mobility and the maps contained in the TEN-T Regulation.

  4. 25.9.2025 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications is inviting comments on a draft government proposal for amending the legislation on devices known as jammers intended for interfering with radio communications. The amendments would be made to the Act on Electronic Communications Services. Comments may be submitted until 29 October 2025.

  5. 16.12.2025 | At the Energy Council meeting on 15 December 2025, Member States of the European Union adopted a partial general approach on the proposed regulation establishing Connecting Europe Facility for 2028–2034. Finland is in favour of the regulation’s emphasis on military mobility.

  9. 10.4.2024 | The Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) is defined in the new Regulation on European Union guidelines for the development of the TEN-T network. The regulation also lays down provisions on the quality requirements for the network corridors and transport nodes. On 10 April 2024, the Ministry of Transport and Communications published maps showing Finland’s TEN-T network in accordance with the new Regulation.

  10. 24.1.2024 | Finland has successfully applied for EU funding from the European Commission, which awarded EUR 39.45 million from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to seven military mobility projects in Finland. As the sum applied for was EUR 43.16 million, this call for proposals was a great success for Finland.

  11. 11.12.2025 | A round table discussion on port safety and security took place on 11 December 2025 at the invitation of Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne and Minister of the Interior Mari Rantanen. The meeting focussed on the security situation in Finnish ports and how they might be impacted by changes taking place in the operating environment.

  20. 19.12.2023 | Representatives of the EU Member States, Parliament and Commission have reached a provisional accord on a regulation concerning Union guidelines for developing the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). The regulation will define the TEN-T network, legislating on such aspects as quality requirements for highways and transport nodes. The accord was achieved in tripartite negotiations on 18 December 2023.
