  1. 3.4.2025 | The draft National Transport System Plan, or the draft Transport 12 Plan, and the related environmental report, were circulated for comments from 20 December 2024 to 5 March 2025. A total of 250 comments were received. Overall the update was largely considered appropriate in relation to the changes that have taken place in the operating environment.

  5. 11.4.2025 | The Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) met in London on 7–11 April 2025. After challenging negotiations, the Committee’s 83rd session reached a provisional agreement on measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships. The final decisions are to be made in October 2025.

  8. 28.3.2019 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications and VR Group have agreed upon the implementation of rail transport via a purchased traffic agreement in 2020.   13. 14.6.2024 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications has appointed a high-level interministerial working group, called the Digital Panel, to identify opportunities provided by the digital transformation, the data economy and new technologies.   14. 2.5.2024 | Amendments to the EU Regulation on minimum breaks and rest periods were published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 2 May 2024. Specific rules were included in the Regulation to change the driving times and rest periods in the occasional passenger transport sector. In most cases, occasional passenger transport means chartered transport by bus or coach. The sector has special characteristics that the goods transport or regular coach and bus transport sectors do not share.

The Civil Aviation Group is a sub-group of the Transport Group, which is one of the planning groups under NATO’s Resilience Committee.
